I’d love to invite you to a small Obvara firing workshop at Oribe firing center. Obvara is a type of raku atmospheric firing technique using fermented mixtures to create unpredictable surface patterns and smoky organic finishes on ceramics.
The workshop will include a demonstration of the firing process, supporting letter with some tips for better results, firing and finishing techniques, and plenty of time for questions and experimentation. No prior experience with Obvara is necessary.
Participants are welcome to bring 3-5 bisque-fired pieces suitable for the process. More details about clay bodies and preparation will be shared after registration.
Space will be limited to keep the workshop hands-on and relaxed.
